Before you book your appointment, make sure your hair is from 1/4 - 1/2 inches long; otherwise, waxing won’t be as effective.
You can exfoliate your skin prior to waxing but allow at least 24-48 hours in between the exfoliation and your waxing appointment.
If you are concerned about discomfort, you could take ibuprofen 30 minutes to an hour before your appointment.
Waxing can lead to some skin redness, red bumps, and irritation.
Immediately after waxing, wear loose cotton clothing to minimize irritation. You may want to avoid showering with hot water as your skin is more sensitive after waxing.
Use gentle products to reduce irritation and to keep your skin moisturized.
Brazilian wax results will last about 3-4 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. The good news is that waxed hair typically grows in softer and will be more tolerable in consequent visits to the salon.
Brazilian waxing may be better left for the professionals, as DIYing it at home may be much more challenging and painful than a quick trip to the salon. We always recommend booking your appointment with a salon that specialized in Brazilian waxing. The more experienced your esthetician is, the smoother your experience will be - all the way around.
Keep those pesky ingrown hairs at bay. Here is our step by step protocol for post wax:
Leave it alone for the first week after your wax. Or invest in some fur oil or tend skin to apply on the area for one week post wax.
Week two, once the hair starts growing back in, go in with your exfoliating gloves no more than three times a week. Start with two days a week. Do this up until you come get your next wax. Use just water or a clean ingredient body wash on your gloves.
DO NOT use a scrub of any sort on the bikini area post wax. This could clog your pores or cause your skin to react.
Ingrown hairs will happen, best not to pick at them and let us, the professionals, take care of them in a sanitary way.
Please avoid hot tubs, very strenuous exercise or any other high bacteria exposure within 24 hours of your wax.
Q: What is the difference between a Brazilian wax and a bikini wax? A: A bikini wax only removes hair visible outside a bikini line. A Brazilian wax removes all unwanted hair in the bikini region, including the backside, with the option to leave a small landing strip in the front.
Q: How long does a Brazilian wax last? A: Results typically last 3 to 4 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. With regular appointments, hair tends to grow back softer and finer over time.
Q: How should I prepare for a Brazilian wax? A: Make sure your hair is between 1/4 and 1/2 inch long. You can exfoliate 24 to 48 hours before your appointment, and take ibuprofen 30 to 60 minutes beforehand if you're concerned about discomfort.
Q: What should I do after a Brazilian wax? A: Wear loose cotton clothing and avoid hot showers immediately after your appointment. Use gentle, fragrance-free products to keep the area moisturized and minimize irritation.
